Behaviour Referrals

Clinical Behaviour Support in Glasgow and Edinburgh

Do you have a client you who has requested a behaviour referral?

Or a patient in practice who may benefit?

As the in-house behaviourist based at Riverside Vets in Armadale, I provide professional, evidence-based, ethical and effective behaviour support.

Sessions either take place at the Behaviour Clinic in Armadale, or in the client’s home.

As a Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist, we work on vet referral for behaviour cases. There is a link between some behaviours and medical conditions, with the latest research suggesting that at least a third of behaviour cases involve some form of painful condition - Mills et al. 2020

Following all sessions, clients will receive reports which will be sent on to you - this enables us to stay in touch throughout the dog’s behaviour change journey!

Behaviourists are fortunate to spend time with clients and their dogs in environments they feel relaxed, noting any observations to feed back to the vet-led team!

What sets Ashley apart from other behaviourists is the combination of attention to detail - extensive reports setting realistic long-term goals - and owner support, backed up with years of experience.

She happily discusses cases and refers them back to us if she feels that there’s something else going on. She has intricate knowledge of all the behaviour-modifying medications so can help in advising vets on which ones to prescribe. She also works closely with our Physiotherapists and will ask them to do pain assessments where appropriate. I feel that this holistic approach results in a better outcome for our patients.

Clients just can’t afford to make the wrong choice with a pet behaviourist. Problematic dog behaviour can cause immense family stress and can put the pet’s future at risk. I feel that I can fully trust Ashley to teach owners how to understand their pets better and in working together, it leads to the best chance of these dogs being happier
